I have a parent in a care home. Over the last two years, countless conversations with residents have illuminated something profound. None of them dwell on material possessions or their busyness. They talk about family, friends, laughter, travel, and those small moments of stillness, often accompanied by music, that brought them joy.
It’s a stark reminder that tomorrow is promised to no one. But this doesn’t mean we disregard the future; it means we honour the fact that every today builds toward it. The essence of living intentionally is to shift the dialeven slightly toward how we want to live. It’s about doing something today…..no matter how small…..that brings us closer to joy, purpose, or connection.
Many live in a sense of stuckness, often chasing more. But what if we pause to envision how we truly want to live? Coaching is the art of making the possible tangible. In those conversations, we don’t just dream; we shape. Words create worlds. We bring imagination to the ground.
So, when your twilight years arrive, let the music of your life bring you back to moments you truly enjoyed not just endured. Investing in intentional conversations and imagining your life differently can shift the dial. The question is: What is that shift worth to you?
